This is a match made in heaven. Take Cloud Nothing’s punk rock riffs, throw in Wavves’ manic surf noise, and you’ll get a rock album that feels like stumbling upon a beach bonfire party.

Two bands joining forces rarely ever works out. Most of the time one band’s style takes over the project and it sounds more like the other band is just featuring. However, in No Life For Me, you have there two band balancing each other out. On their own, Wavves can get a bit too noisy and Cloud Nothing can get a little dull. Don’t get me wrong, they are both kickass bands, but together they are on another level. The sound is so full and richly layered. From the rush of euphoric punk vibes in How’s It’s Gonna Go to the electronic-infused post-hardcore Nothing Hurts to the grungy lo-fi Nervous. This album has raised the bar for musical collaborations.
